I've always loved the word reflection.
A reflection isn't quite an answer, and it isn't quite a question either. It's what happens when we pause long enough to look again.
These pages aren't here to tell you how to live, or to offer five-step guides to becoming a better version of yourself. There are already enough places doing that. Instead, this is where I'll share the questions that keep finding me.
Questions about the stories we inherit and the ones we write for ourselves. About what it means to be good. About grief, dreams, chronic illness and the quiet ways our bodies ask us to listen. About nature: not as somewhere we escape to, but as something we have always been part of. About dogs, who have taught me more about communication, boundaries and love than I ever expected. About writing, which became a way of making sense of the world long before I came to this work.
From time to time, I'll also share news of workshops, including Walking in Their Paws, Seeing Through Their Eyes, reflections from my own practice, and updates on my writing projects, including The Elastic Self on Substack, where I'm exploring many of these ideas in greater depth.
If there's a thread running through all of it, it's curiosity...
I've come to believe that healing rarely begins with certainty. More often, it begins when we become curious enough to ask a different question. Curious about the stories we've inherited, the beliefs we've perhaps always carried, the ways we've learned to belong, and the possibilities that emerge when we begin to imagine another way of living.
I don't expect to arrive at definitive answers here. I hope, instead, to create a place where we can wonder together.
If these reflections leave you with a question you've never asked yourself before, they'll have done exactly what they were meant to do.
Welcome.
